Since 2020, Breitling has made sustainability a defining part of its identity—setting targets, tracking progress, and reporting results with transparency. The fifth Sustainability Mission Report reaffirms Breitling’s consistent focus, aligning for the second consecutive year to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), a rigorous and recognized sustainability reporting framework. This consistent adherence to leading standards reflects not just what Breitling stands for, but how it holds itself accountable.

CEO Georges Kern emphasizes Breitling’s role in sustainability: “At Breitling, we create luxury that is approachable, casual, and sustainable. We offer compelling, neo-luxury products that are created sustainably and based on strong values. Together, we are a Squad on a mission to do better.”

Breitling’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Aurelia Figueroa, shares, “The 2025 report is one of our most exciting to date. In it, we share the stories of community members with whom we have the opportunity to bring sustainable transformation to life. Over the past year, our efforts have deepened across all areas—community, nature, and governance. We are also proud to have received key awards recognizing our achievements, which reinforce the relevance and impact of our work.”

PIONEERS IN TRACEABILITY AND MEANINGFUL TRANSPARENCY

True to its pioneering legacy, Breitling continues to innovate together with the communities at the origin of its products. In 2022, Breitling introduced a commitment to a full transition to better gold, responsibly sourced from artisanal and small-scale mines; and to better diamonds, lab-grown and from carefully vetted suppliers. Not only do these ensure full traceability and transparency, but they also directly benefit the local communities through the Better Diamond Fund and Better Gold Fund. These funds provide a voluntary premium of 30 CHF per lab-grown diamond carat purchased, and 1.35 USD per gram of gold to the local communities from where they’re sourced.

Currently in the third year of sourcing better gold and better diamonds, key achievements are already tangible. The Breitling Better Gold Fund works in direct collaboration with Swiss Better Gold (SBG) to create positive social and environmental impact in mining areas and surrounding communities. As just one example, and thanks to the efforts of SBG in creating accessible education for a local village in Colombia, students were able to graduate from a local, tailored education program and strengthen their community in the process.

Breitling’s shift to exclusive reliance on lab-grown diamonds—grown, cut, and polished in Gujarat, on India’s west coast, has also sparked meaningful change. These facilities emphasize full transparency and operate in a climate-neutral environment, in most cases powered by 100% renewable energy. As an example of its commitment to, and engagement in, supporting sustainable transformation along its value chain and across its sphere of influence, Breitling has actively co-financed the uptake of renewable energy with its suppliers of both Better Gold and Better Diamonds.

The Breitling Better Diamond Fund collaborates with social impact leaders to provide tailored education in partnership with Global Good x Amani, a recognized leader in the field. This engagement has reinforced local initiatives for child education, environmental protection, women’s economic empowerment, and community development.

To date, 45 graduates have emerged through programs made possible by the Breitling Better Diamond Fund, creating a lasting positive impact in their communities. Looking ahead, Breitling remains committed to sustainable childhood education for future generations, working closely with local organizations encountered along the way.

SUSTAINABILITY: A JOURNEY TO ENHANCE COMMUNITIES FOR EVERYONE

For Breitling, sustainability is not a destination, but an evolving journey—one that requires constant reflection, adaptability, and forward thinking. Breitling voluntarily sets the bar higher year after year, recognizing sustainability as a core brand value and a key factor in creating shared value. This dedication was recognized with the Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, an award received by companies in the top 1% globally for their sustainability efforts.

These efforts as well as many others are detailed in Breitling’s 2025 Sustainability Mission Report.
