B.R.M Chronographes extends its mechanical design language beyond the wrist with Clock Machines, a collection of seven sculptural desk clocks inspired by the machinery of motor racing, aviation, motorcycling and boating.
Each clock takes its form from a rotating mechanical component and translates that engineering reference into a functional object designed to display the time. The collection includes The Steering Wheel, The Three-Blade, The Brake Disc, The V-Twin, The Flat-Twin, The Jet Engine and The Propeller.
Seven Clocks, Seven Mechanical References
B.R.M Chronographes gives each Clock Machine a distinct mechanical identity:
The Steering Wheel draws from motor racing, translating the form of a racing wheel into a desk clock.
The Three-Blade takes inspiration from aviation and the geometry of an aero-engine propeller.
The Brake Disc references motorsport braking hardware, with a drilled-disc design.
The V-Twin interprets the architecture of a motorcycle engine through its twin-cylinder form.
The Flat-Twin brings the symmetrical layout of a flat engine into a compact desk object.
The Jet Engine recreates the graphic structure of a turbine fan.
The Propeller takes its design language from marine machinery and a boat propeller.
Machined From Solid Aluminium
B.R.M Chronographes builds the Clock Machines from solid aluminium, rather than cast components. The material is machined to create the individual forms before receiving different surface treatments according to the design.
The finishing includes techniques such as bead-blasting, satin-brushing, polishing and anodising, creating contrasts between surfaces and highlighting the geometry of each clock.
The manufacturing approach follows the same emphasis on machining and finishing found throughout B.R.M Chronographes’ watchmaking work, with each clock assembled and regulated in France.
Precision Quartz at the Core
While the exterior is defined by mechanical forms, the Clock Machines use a high-precision quartz motor for timekeeping.
The movement is deliberately concealed within the sculptural construction, allowing the external design to remain focused on the machinery-inspired architecture while maintaining consistent timekeeping.
A Range Built Around Scale and Presence
The collection moves from more compact designs to substantial statement pieces. The official specifications list dimensions ranging from approximately 23 cm to more than 50 cm, depending on the model.
The scale reinforces the intended character of the Clock Machines: these are designed as objects for a desk, study or collector's space rather than conventional tabletop clocks.
Multiple Finishes and Numbered Production
B.R.M Chronographes offers the Clock Machines in multiple finishes, allowing the machined forms to take on different visual treatments.
Each finish is produced in a series of 20 numbered pieces, giving the collection a limited-production character while retaining the individual identity of each model.
The Seven Clock Machines
Model - Inspiration
The Steering Wheel - Motor racing
The Three-Blade - Aviation
The Brake Disc - Motor racing and braking
The V-Twin - Motorcycling
The Flat-Twin - Engine architecture
The Jet Engine - Aviation
The Propeller - Boating
A Mechanical Object Reinterpreted for the Desk
With Clock Machines, B.R.M Chronographes takes familiar forms from the world of machinery and reduces them to their essential function: displaying time.
The result is a collection that sits between horology, industrial design and mechanical sculpture, with each model retaining the visual language of the machine that inspired it while becoming a functional object in its own right.
