Dennison unveils the latest evolution of its Dual Time collection: the ALD Dual Time “Shades” Dial. A watch defined not by excess, but by nuance, where a single colour becomes many, and where, for the first time in Dennison’s history, the dial takes on a new dimensionality. At the centre of the release is a new dial concept designed by Emmanuel Gueit. An exploration of light, perception, and restraint. Rendered in a singular tone, the dial’s vertically and horizontally brushed surface refracts and absorbs light in a way that continuously alters its appearance. As the watch moves, so too does the colour, deepening, softening, shifting, revealing a spectrum hidden within a single colour. This is not a gradient. It is not a fade. It is something more precise: a controlled interaction between finish and light.
A First for Dennison: Indices
For the first time, Dennison introduces indices to the dial, marking a significant evolution in the brand’s minimalist design language. Executed with a considered balance, the indices combine Roman numerals with Art Deco– inspired forms, creating a dialogue between classical watchmaking codes and early modernist design. A continuation of duality with enhanced legibility.
Three Colours. Infinite Variation.
The “Shades” collection is introduced through three distinct executions, each built around a single core tone:-
Green: organic, shifting between forest density and lighter, almost verdant highlights
Blue: fluid and atmospheric, moving from rich navy to a softer chambray blue, reflective tones
Brown: warm and grounded, revealing notes of bronze, tobacco, and shadow.
The contrasting finishes on each side of the dial behave differently under light, yet all remain anchored in the same principle: one colour, endlessly transformed.
Dual Time, Reimagined Through Perspective
Dennison’s Dual Time complication remains at the heart of the ALD designed for those navigating multiple time zones, or simply multiple states of being. With the “Shades” dial, this idea extends beyond function. Just as time is relative to place, colour becomes relative to light. The watch becomes an instrument not only of timekeeping, but of perception.
Introducing the Pebble Link Bracelet
Alongside the new dial, Dennison introduces its pebble link bracelet in stainless steel, a new addition to the collection designed to complement the watch’s overall form. Softly rounded, fluid in profile, each link mirrors the organic geometry of polished stones, creating a bracelet that sits naturally on the wrist while maintaining a strong visual identity. The integration is seamless, reinforcing the watch’s cohesive silhouette. A concealed clasp ensures uninterrupted lines, allowing the bracelet to read as a continuous form, refined, understated and considered.
A Contemporary Expression of Craft
With the ALD Dual Time “Shades” Dial, Dennison continues to refine its approach to watchmaking prioritising texture, proportion, and detail over overt complexity. From the dynamic nature of the dial, to the fluidity of the new bracelet, every element plays a role in a unified composition. The result is a watch that reveals itself over time subtly, gradually, and always differently.
