H. Moser & Cie. introduces the Endeavour Minute Repeater Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Cosmic Rain, a highly complex creation that brings together acoustic engineering, high-end mechanical watchmaking and artisanal dial craftsmanship.
Limited to 20 pieces worldwide, the timepiece is housed in a 40mm titanium case and combines three major horological elements: a dial-side minute repeater, a flying tourbillon equipped with a cylindrical hairspring, and a fully skeletonised hand-wound movement. Adding an artistic dimension to the mechanical architecture is a miniature aventurine and mother-of-pearl dial, creating the Cosmic Rain effect that gives the timepiece its name.
A Minute Repeater Takes Centre Stage
The defining feature of the Endeavour Cosmic Rain is its dial-side minute repeater.
Unlike conventional constructions in which the hammers and gongs are positioned on the movement's rear, H. Moser & Cie. places these acoustic components prominently on the dial side. This required the Manufacture to rethink the architecture of the movement while maintaining the acoustic performance expected from a minute repeater.
The result allows the mechanical choreography of the complication to remain visible while the watch produces its characteristic acoustic indication of the time. The hammers and gongs become part of the visual identity of the watch rather than remaining concealed beneath the case.
Cosmic Rain: Aventurine Meets Mother-of-Pearl
At approximately 2 o'clock, a small domed aventurine dial introduces a striking contrast to the exposed mechanics.
Aventurine glass is created by incorporating tiny copper crystals into the material, producing a characteristic shimmering appearance reminiscent of a star-filled night sky. For the Cosmic Rain edition, aventurine glass in two colours is applied by hand to a domed base to create H. Moser & Cie.'s signature fumé gradient. The material then undergoes multiple firings before the second decorative process begins.
Thin strips of mother-of-pearl are individually cut and subtly curved before being integrated into the engraved surface of the miniature dial. The resulting composition creates a delicate scattering of luminous elements across the aventurine background, reinforcing the celestial inspiration behind the Cosmic Rain name.
Three Languages of Haute Horlogerie
The Endeavour Cosmic Rain brings together three distinct forms of expression:

Movement, through the flying tourbillon and cylindrical hairspring
Light and artistry, through aventurine glass and mother-of-pearl
Rather than competing with one another, these elements are designed to form a unified composition combining traditional watchmaking with contemporary artistic execution.
A Flying Tourbillon with Cylindrical Hairspring
At the heart of the watch is a one-minute flying tourbillon equipped with a cylindrical hairspring.
The cylindrical hairspring has its origins in 18th-century marine chronometers. Unlike a conventional flat hairspring, it rises perpendicularly around the upper portion of the balance staff. Its concentric geometry is intended to improve isochronism while representing a particularly demanding form of hairspring construction.
The cylindrical hairspring is produced by Precision Engineering AG, H. Moser & Cie's sister company, where each spring is individually hand-shaped through a process requiring considerably more time than the production of a conventional hairspring.
Manufacture Calibre HMC 909
The Endeavour Cosmic Rain is powered by the hand-wound Manufacture calibre HMC 909.
The movement is fully skeletonised, allowing the technical architecture to remain visible while supporting the minute repeater and flying tourbillon.
The calibre brings together the watch's principal mechanical elements within a construction designed around transparency, acoustic performance and visual depth.
Titanium Case and Contemporary Architecture
The entire mechanism is housed within a 40mm titanium case. Titanium provides a lightweight foundation for a watch incorporating multiple high-level complications while reinforcing the contemporary character of the Endeavour collection. The combination of titanium, openworked mechanics and the richly textured Cosmic Rain dial creates a deliberate contrast between technical modernity and traditional artisanal craftsmanship.
