Le Régulateur - Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin III

THE TIME EATER IS BACK

PRESS RELEASE | 865 WORDS | 8 MINUTE READ

The Regulator Monster is back… Time Eater III as a final bite? Two new watches. Two faces of the WristMonster… All the codes of the LE x KC saga. Two years ago, Louis Erard & Konstantin Chaykin unleashed their first beast. A one-eyed freak straight out of Slavic legends: half myth, half joker, full madness. You nicknamed it Time Eater. It stared at you. It made every second that counts fun. It sold out faster than you could blink. Today, it returns, hungrier than ever. Two Regulator versions… you asked for them and we simply couldn’t resist! And for the first time ever, this legendary collab will be sold by both Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin.

Watch facts that matter

  • Two collectible watches: Pick your monster! One sold by Louis Erard, one by Konstantin Chaykin.

  • The mono-eye: Convex. White with a black pupil. Alive. Always watching. It’s the hours disk, set inside the 12 o’clock counter.

  • The rebellious hand: A central minutes hand that doesn’t follow the rules. One end raises a defiant finger, the other flashes a rock’n’roll salute.

  • The toothed mouth: A sharp-toothed spinning disk set in the 6 o’clock counter.

  • The face: A colored minutes ring with the Louis Erard logo at 6 o’clock and Konstantin Chaykin’s name at 12 o’clock. Red for Chaykin, blue for Louis Erard.

  • The crown: signed by Chaykin, because every WristMonster needs the mark of its maker.

“This time, it was Konstantin who called, with a grin of course! He said: “Making watches together is fun, but wouldn’t it be even better if I could actually sell a few?” Classic Chaykin: part mischief, part mastermind… but with that call...that grin… there was something more… a sense of ‘stay tuned’! So two years after the original Cyclops, part Slavic myth, part horological joker, we return with a new sequel. Two new editions of the Regulator: red or blue, as for the first time, the monster is being sold by both of us, meaning there’s no need to pick a side, just a color! The story doesn’t stop here. This isn’t goodbye. The monster evolves. The collaboration continues. What’s next? It’s already lurking out there ready to appear. You have been warned!”

-Manuel Emch

Time Eater III: Regulator. Blue or red, 42 or 39mm?

One mouth, one eye, two hands that don’t play by the rules. The iconic Louis Erard x Chaykin collab returns with its Regulator face in a double 178-piece edition with two new colorways:

- A blue minutes ring 42mm edition, with a toad leather strap, sold by Louis Erard.

- A red minutes ring 39mm edition, with a grained calfskin strap, sold by Chaykin.

Both share the same expressive dial blending the signature vertical Louis Erard Regulator display and Chaykin’s unmistakable WristMonster face. The mechanical self-winding regulator features a hypnotic mono-eye hours disk at 12 o’clock, a rotating toothed mouth for small second at 6 o’clock and a rebellious central minutes hand. Just 2x178 and that’s it. Once gone, gone for good. That’s what we call the final bite of the Regulator.

Do you hear that growl? Is that for more? Is that a monster coming… stalking in the shadows? You have been warned! First bite from June 18.

Blue edition: available via Louis Erard’s official retailers and online boutique.

Red edition: sold exclusively by Konstantin Chaykin.

LOUIS ERARD

SWISS WATCHMAKER

EST. 1929

Louis Erard disrupts traditional watchmaking by making horological craftsmanship accessible to a wider audience. Its exceptional timepieces, rooted in artistic crafts, boldly merge tradition and modernity, shaped by visionary artisans who push the boundaries of horology.

Since 1929, independence has been the brand's driving force, inspired by the wild spirit of the Swiss Jura, embodied in its iconic regulators and mechanical watches. Under Manuel Emch's leadership, Louis Erard prioritizes innovation over conformity, pursuing lasting excellence rather than rapid growth, forging its own path in watchmaking.

Through collaborations with avant-garde creators such as Alain Silberstein, Vianney Halter and Konstantin Chaykin, Louis Erard transcends artistic boundaries, playing with new codes to craft watches that redefine and disrupt the very essence of time.

KONSTANTIN CHAYKIN

THE MIND BEHIND WRISTMONSTERS

1975

Chaykin isn’t just a watchmaker. He’s a mad scientist of time. A master of complications, obsessed with invention, powered by curiosity. Since 2003, he’s been building his own world and his own Manufacture, one bizarre, brilliant timepiece at a time. Tourbillons? He made the first ones in Russia. A clock that calculates Orthodox Easter. An array of 94 patents and counting, more than any other watchmaker alive. The man doesn’t stop. From Clown to Joker and from Minotaur to Harley Quinn, every model is a character, a collectible. He’s the only Russian member of the AHCI and even ran the show as its president. His creations light up the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. In 2018, he took home the Audacity Prize, because what else do you give a watch that smiles back at you? And in 2021, he broke records with the Martian Tourbillon, the most expensive Russian watch ever sold. Konstantin Chaykin doesn’t make watches. He makes monsters. And luckily for us, he keeps letting them out.
