At NOMOS Glashütte, tradition continues to evolve. Presented at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, the Tangente neomatik 38 Update introduces a new interpretation of the brand’s most recognisable model now in a more versatile 38.5 mm case size and, for the first time, in 18 kt gold.
This updated proportion brings improved balance and wearability, positioning the Tangente as an elegant, contemporary dress watch suited to a wide range of wrists. Alongside the classic stainless steel execution, the introduction of gold offers a distinctly elevated expression of this modern icon.
At the heart of the Tangente neomatik 38 Update lies NOMOS Glashütte’s patented ring date display, an innovation that redefines how the calendar is read.
Encircling the dial, the entire month is visible at a glance, while two red markers move along the outer ring to frame the current date.
First introduced in 2018 and recognised with a Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève award, this complication remains one of the most intuitive date displays in contemporary watchmaking.
The mechanism is powered by the in-house DUW 6101 calibre, part of the neomatik family. Engineered for slimness and precision, the movement integrates the date ring around its periphery, maintaining a refined case profile while ensuring smooth operation through a bidirectional winding rotor and quick-set date function.
In its gold execution, the Tangente neomatik 38 Update introduces a new layer of warmth and presence. Long associated with fine dress watches, gold complements the model’s restrained Bauhaus design, adding depth without compromising its signature minimalism. The stainless steel variant, meanwhile, continues to offer a more understated, everyday expression of the same technical sophistication.
As with all NOMOS timepieces, the watch carries the protected designation of origin “Glashütte”, with in-house calibres finished to the standards of traditional German watchmaking and adjusted in six positions for enhanced precision and durability.
With the Tangente neomatik 38 Update, NOMOS Glashütte extends one of its most celebrated innovations into a more universal format bridging heritage, engineering, and modern design with clarity and restraint.
