A Tribute to 250 Years of American Independence
As the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary, ZENITH introduces the CHRONOMASTER Revival Liberty II, a special edition that celebrates both a significant historical milestone and the Manufacture's longstanding relationship with America. Building upon the success of the original Liberty edition, the new CHRONOMASTER Revival Liberty II adopts a more commemorative approach while continuing the narrative that links ZENITH's heritage to the entrepreneurial spirit that helped shape its future.
The American Inspiration Behind ZENITH
The story behind the Liberty II extends beyond aesthetics. During the 19th century, ZENITH founder Georges Favre-Jacot travelled to the United States and encountered a revolutionary industrial manufacturing model. Inspired by the efficiency and organisation of American production methods, he returned to Switzerland with a vision that would transform Swiss watchmaking.
His ambition led to the creation of the first fully integrated Swiss watch manufacture, bringing every stage of watch production under one roof and establishing a new benchmark for precision, consistency and innovation.
The Liberty II honours this defining chapter in ZENITH's history.
Patriotic Design Details
The dial presents a striking white lacquered surface paired with blue chronograph counters, creating a clean and highly legible display.
Several subtle elements pay tribute to American history:
A chronograph seconds hand featuring 13 alternating red and white stripes, symbolising the original thirteen colonies.
A blue tachymeter scale surrounding the dial.
Red accents highlighting the number "250" on the tachymeter scale.
A red "4" on the date disc, referencing the Fourth of July and American Independence Day.
Together, these details create a thoughtful and symbolic interpretation rather than an overtly patriotic design.
Powered by the Legendary El Primero
At the heart of the CHRONOMASTER Revival Liberty II beats the El Primero 400 calibre, a direct descendant of the groundbreaking movement introduced in 1969. Operating at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz), the movement delivers precision timing to one-tenth of a second while offering approximately 50 hours of power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the calibre showcases the technical expertise that has made El Primero one of the most celebrated chronograph movements in watchmaking history.
Two Exclusive Limited Editions
ZENITH is releasing the Liberty II in two highly exclusive versions:
Stainless Steel Edition
The stainless steel model is limited to 250 pieces, directly reflecting the 250th anniversary being celebrated.
Owners can choose between:
A stainless steel ladder bracelet.
A blue Cordura-effect rubber strap.
Forged Carbon Edition
For collectors seeking a more contemporary interpretation, ZENITH also presents an ultra-limited forged carbon version.
Limited to just 25 pieces worldwide, this edition is paired exclusively with a blue Cordura-effect rubber strap and offers a lighter, more modern aesthetic while retaining the historic Liberty theme.
Continuing a Historic Connection
More than a commemorative release, the CHRONOMASTER Revival Liberty II reflects a pivotal moment in ZENITH's history. The watch serves as a reminder of how American industrial innovation helped inspire Georges Favre-Jacot's vision for a fully integrated manufacture a vision that continues to define ZENITH more than 160 years later.
Combining historical significance, collector appeal and the enduring legacy of the El Primero movement, the Liberty II stands as a fitting tribute to both American independence and ZENITH's pioneering spirit.
