Czapek & Cie Returns to Its Geneva Roots with a New Flagship and Two Exclusive Timepieces

The Maison inaugurates its new Quai des Bergues flagship and introduces the Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva” and Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue.

A New Geneva Flagship and Two Pieces Born of the Occasion. Geneva, September 2026, Czapek & Cie returns to a significant chapter of its history with the inauguration of its new flagship boutique at Quai des Bergues 27, close to the historic location where François Czapek established his early Genevan watchmaking workshop.
Timed to Geneva Watch Days, the Maison marks the occasion with two distinctive creations: the Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva”, now presented in a new 40.5 mm stainless-steel case, and the Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue, a limited edition of 10 pieces crafted in platinum.

A Return to Quai des Bergues

The new boutique represents more than a new retail location for Czapek & Cie. Quai des Bergues forms an important part of the Maison's historical identity.
In 1839, François Czapek established his first company at Quai des Bergues 29, where the atelier became the setting for some of his early haute horlogerie creations. Following the dissolution of his partnership in 1845, Czapek founded Czapek & Cie on May 1 of the same year before eventually establishing a presence on Paris's Place Vendôme.
Nearly two centuries later, the revived Czapek & Cie returns to the same quay, connecting the Maison's 19th-century origins with its contemporary independent watchmaking identity. The new flagship opened its doors to the public in July 2026, followed by an inaugural evening on September 1, bringing together collectors, press, local institutions and friends of the Maison.

A New Kind of Watchmaking Space Located at Quai des Bergues 27, the new Czapek boutique introduces the Maison's latest retail concept, developed in collaboration with design agency Live Teams.
The interior moves away from the conventional watch boutique format.
Raw stone walls reference Geneva's historic streetscape, while American walnut furniture and midnight-blue Alcantara create a warmer, more intimate environment. Rather than separating visitors from the watches with a traditional counter, the space is organised around shared tables and open display stands. The result is intended to encourage conversation, discovery and a more personal engagement with the collections.
A dedicated living-room area provides space for discussions surrounding watchmaking and collector services, while the main gallery presents Czapek's collections, calibres and vintage watches. The boutique is further complemented by Rondo sculptures by Polish-born artist Oskar Zięta, whose mirror-polished steel works introduce another dimension of contemporary design to the space.

Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva”

The inauguration also marks a new chapter for one of Czapek's emblematic creations: the Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva.”
The original edition was introduced in 2019 to mark the opening of Czapek's first modern Geneva boutique. Limited to 18 pieces, it featured a 42.5 mm stainless-steel case, a deep-blue aventurine dial and the manually wound Calibre SXH1 with a seven-day power reserve. For the new Quai des Bergues flagship, Czapek revisits the concept in a 40.5 mm stainless-steel case, introducing a new size to the Quai des Bergues collection. The design retains the collection's characteristic curved case profile, distinctive lug geometry and sapphire crystal caseback, while subtle adjustments to the case-side recesses and lug slope are intended to improve both movement integration and wrist comfort.

Aventurine at 40.5 mm

The deep-blue aventurine glass dial provides the visual focus of the new edition. Its construction presents a particular technical challenge. Rather than creating recessed cavities directly into the fragile aventurine, the main dial is cut through completely, allowing the small-seconds and power-reserve sub-dials to sit on an underlying base-metal plate measuring only 0.4 mm thick.

This construction creates the desired depth while preserving the integrity of the aventurine surface. As with the 2019 edition, the new Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva” is limited to 18 pieces, referencing the address of Czapek's first modern Geneva boutique at Rue de la Corraterie 18. The edition is available through the new Geneva flagship and selected authorised retailers worldwide, with immediate delivery.

Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue

Alongside the Midnight in Geneva, Czapek introduces the Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue, continuing the Maison's collaboration with master watchmaker Bernhard Lederer.

Limited to 10 pieces, the new edition features a Pt 950 platinum case and presents the Place Vendôme Complicité architecture in a cool Glacier Blue aesthetic.

The creation is rooted in the relationship between Czapek CEO Xavier de Roquemaurel and Bernhard Lederer, whose collaboration forms the foundation of the Complicité collection. The sports chronograph: a timekeeping instrument that never relinquishes its aesthetic ambition, and an object of style firmly grounded in mechanical excellence. It is conceived for those who view watchmaking not as ornament, but as a companion present in moments of effort as well as in quieter interludes; equally at ease on a mountain trail as at an exceptional dining table. In the tradition of Michel Parmigiani, a master restorer of historic clocks before founding the Manufacture, each creation of the Maison is designed to endure and accompany generations.

Two Expressions of Independent Watchmaking

With the new Geneva flagship and two limited creations, Czapek & Cie brings together different elements of its identity: historical continuity, independent watchmaking and contemporary design. The Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva” connects the Maison's modern revival with its Geneva origins, while the Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue demonstrates Czapek's continued exploration of unconventional mechanical architecture. Together, the two watches underline Czapek's approach to haute horlogerie, where limited production, distinctive design and specialised mechanical expertise remain central to the Maison's identity.
