Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unforgettable: The Frog Returns in Two New Colours
The distinctive frog-inspired regulator returns in Turquoise and Brown, combining expressive dial design, Grade 5 titanium and traditional Japanese leather craftsmanship.
Louis Erard and independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin introduce two new versions of the Unfrogettable, the character-driven timepiece inspired by the Frog Princess. Available in Turquoise and Brown, each edition is limited to 178 pieces, bringing fresh colour combinations to the collaboration’s recognisable design.
The latest releases continue the partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and Chaykin, known for transforming traditional horological displays into unconventional mechanical characters.
Two Colours, One Unmistakable Character
Both editions retain the Unfrogettable’s horizontal regulator display, where the hours appear at 9 o’clock, the seconds at 3 o’clock and an arrow-shaped minute hand crosses the centre. The rotating pupils give the dial its distinctive frog-like expression, while the inscription “Louis Erard ♥ Konstantin Chaykin” appears at 6 o’clock.
The Turquoise version features a light, grained dial base with deep blue-green counters and a two-tone minute ring in blue-green and violet. Rhodium-toned discs and hands maintain a crisp contrast, complemented by green luminescent details.
The Brown edition takes a warmer approach, combining a light brown grained base with dark brown counters and an ochre-accented minute ring. Five-N gold-toned treatment across the discs, hand and crown adds a warm metallic contrast.
A Grade 5 Titanium Case
Both watches are housed in 40mm Grade 5 titanium cases, combining satin-finished surfaces with polished curves. The lightweight construction is complemented by a distinctive crown positioned at 12 o’clock, reinforcing the character-inspired design.
The crown is finished in polished titanium on the Turquoise edition and warm PVD 5N on the Brown version, creating a visual connection between the case and each dial’s colour palette.
Japanese Leather with Traditional Finishing
The watches are fitted with black Himeji Kurozan leather straps sourced from a historic Japanese tannery. The leather is hand-rubbed and finished with traditional Urushi lacquer, bringing a distinctive material contrast to the titanium case.
The Turquoise version features violet stitching and a matching violet leather lining, while the Brown edition retains black on both the exterior and lining.
The Louis Erard and Konstantin Chaykin Collaboration
The Unfrogettable continues Louis Erard’s approach to collaborative watchmaking, bringing together traditional Swiss horological expertise and unconventional artistic expression.
Konstantin Chaykin is known for character-driven mechanical watches, including his Wristmon creations, which transform time displays into expressive faces. The collaboration reflects this approach through the Unfrogettable’s animated eyes and distinctive regulator arrangement. For Louis Erard, the project continues a broader commitment to independent watchmaking and partnerships with contemporary creators.
